I think this may get too lenghty, I was searching for a phone number, but here goes. I am doctoring with Pain Management for quite some time now, so we all sign a pain contract. I have always been upfront regarding all of this. Now one of the girls that used to work for my pain management doctor is now working as a tech at my local pharmacy. There was nothing but trouble with her back at my pain doctors office, just delays in getting authorizations, not getting things faxed in a timely matter etc. So, fast forward to now at my pharmacy. I took in an rx to show my pain doctor for a surgery I was scheduled to have done just so his office knew & his nurse charted everthing. The rx was then dropped off at the pharmacy but I told them I wasn't going to fill it right off the bat, I wanted to wait to see how bad I was going to feel. Well right b4 surgery I get a phone call from this particular tech telling me I had to call my pain management doctor right away, & oh he is in the other office today. I told her I didnt understand why as he already knew abt my surgical rx that I just showed it to his nurse & she documented everything. Her response was "You need to call him". I did just that & he asked abt that rx & I told him that all the info was in my chart at his other office & how his nurse saw the rx & charted it. He asked if I could not fill it unless I absolutely had too due to the fact I'm already on the same medication but a higher dose. I had no problem with that at all. After thinking abt this for a few days, I thought why is she taking it upon herself to call on my prescription, its been sitting there for how long now & she shows up to work, the only one that knows I even have a pain contract out & right away

Hi, I submitted a question yesterday & I was hoping I might possibly see it answered here today. I had started it out by saying that" this may get a little lengthy & that I was hoping there was a telephone option but I didn't find one. The gist of my letter was regarding a tech at the pharmacy I go to taking it upon herself to call my pain management dr. regarding a script I had at the pharmacy for an upcoming surgery. She used to work for my pain management Dr.& all patients must sign a pain contract. She actually was the only one at this pharmacy that even knew I had a pain contract out. And, I honestly believe she called my pain doctor to see if she could get me in trouble Patients had many issues with her when she worked for my pain doctor. My script had been sitting there for awhile as I really did not want to fill it, however I showed it to my pain doctors nurse & I told her abt my upcoming surgery & she documented everything. So it was a surprise phone call when she told me I needed to call him In any case I mentioned all of this to the manager at my pharmacy who said only the pharmacist calls the doctors so he was going to talk to her. Then I had a problem with my surgery & such horrific pain I had to get that rx filled. When I called to fill it I also asked the pharmacist how this tech reacted when he spoke with her. Well whole change of attitude. He didnt get a chance to talk to her, and he knows she did not call my dr as only the pharmacist can do that & nothing was charted...so basically calling me a liar..I told him that yes indeed she made that call but I apologize if I stepped out of line. You would think not charting would be a clue but anyway I immediately called my pmd & told him I was filling the script & asked who initiated that call as he had no reason too because he knew all about the script. Well I was correct, it was the tech, same one that worked for him. So I called the pharmacist back & relayed that info & once again he renegs on what he just said the day before. "Well you know anybody can really call a Dr. I just like to do it when I'm here because I'm the pharmacist & he I could tell from how he spoke that he did not intend to speak to her. So thats fine, I just want to kniw if the techs do make calls to Drs., are they not supoosed to write that in a patients record, or did she breech my pruvacy? Because right now I feel like she did. I do not intend on going back there again, not with that nosy rosy around. We have nany other pharmacies to go too. Sorry once again for how long this is, but I had to get that connection in there so you mught understand why I feel this way. Thank you Very Much! Nancy Ermer margeatlarge@new.rr.com
