Answer to Motrin Elixir Question

First of all, the Sig is wrong. A doctor would never write for 320mg PRN (as needed). The doctor needs to specify a frequency, such as daily, twice daily, three times daily, every 12 hours, every 8 hours, ect. The pharmacist you work under would not accept this prescription without the frequency specified. 320mg is a low dose. The amount given on this question is 4 ounces. 4 x 30ml/ounce is a total of 120ml. The solution contains 5ml/160mg, so therefore the 320mg dose would be 10ml.

120ml = 12 doses of 10ml (320mg)
