chemotherapy preparation requirements

by Carrie Small

I can find nowhere the answer to the probable per state regulation question:

"Does the preparation of chemotherapy infusions REQUIRE a certification or otherwise legal document for either a pharmacy technician OR a pharmacist?"

I appreciate your help in this matter. It is vague and indefinite in all research results that we've had. I look forward to this response.

- currently, I have registration in both New Mexico and Texas, as well as Minnesota. -

Chemotherapy Preparation Requirements Answer

No, chemotherapy pharmacy technicians / pharmacists do not need any legal document or certification other than what your specific state board of pharmacy requires. This may be a license and/or it may be a national certification.

I just added a page to this site on Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technicians.
