Pharmacy Tech using social network to tell someone what Rx they need, not knowing the person is currently taking meds for it!

Is it a violation of HIPPA if a pharm tech sends a message via facebook calling someone a "Crazy Ass" and telling them to come see them at the pharmacy to get medicine for it if that person is currently being treated for depression and anxiety? I called and reported this person to their pharmacist but need to know if anything else can be done. I could never feel comfortable using that chain of pharmacies to fill any of my medicines due to the fact that they would have access to my records.

Answer: You can make a formal complaint to the state Board of Pharmacy. Go to their website and either call, fax, or email them details about the situation. Hope this helps, good luck.
